Delayed Weight Gain or Loss?

Just curious, anyone ever experienced either referenced above?
Example. You weight 200lbs and wear a size 40 pants in men's. You lose 30lbs and still wear a 40. You lose another 5 and all of a sudden you drop a pant size or two out of no where.
Same thing with weight gain.

Yes. All the time. Or you lose 5 pounds and suddenly your pants are too small. What the what? I've come to the conclusion measurements and weight are only sort of related.0

Yes. Except mine is women's sizing. It's called water weight and it goes up and down. A more consistent mark of success is if you stay in your calorie goal more often.2

Because it was probably water weight which usually is just bloating . Those other 5 pounds was most likely fat that was lost around the waist . 5 pounds of fat makes a big difference lol0
