Pregnancy weight gain

Anyone have any ideas to help fight off the inevitable weight gain that comes with pregnancy. I mean the extra curricular weight gain, not the normal amount(25-35lbs) that in my case is considered healthy.
I am currently 7 months (28.5 weeks) pregnant and entering the 3rd trimester. I have already gained a total of 23lbs and am really trying to stay on the lower end of the spectrum my doctor gave me (closer to 25lbs than 35). Between my last two checkups(4weeks apart) I gained a whopping 8lbs.
With that said, I am so ready to just go ahead and get a head start on controlling my weight better, so that it is easier to lose post partum.
Any tips?

If you're hungry... eat. The baby needs it! Just make healthy choices. Don't eat junk. Stay away from empty calories and excess sugar. It's not good for you or the baby. Also... Breastfeeding is great for loosing weight after baby is born :)

You're making a human. You have time to worry about weight.

Not trying to scare you but just want you to know that for me, I gained 50 pounds and the majority, about 25-30, was after 32 weeks. That's sometimes just how it goes and what your body needs to do. As long as you are eating nutrient dense food, don't worry about the weight!
