Whey protein

Is it ok to drink after a workout if I already drink a plant based meal replacement for breakfast? I like the ingredients in my morning one (garden of life raw organic protein) but my bf got a sample of whey protein by nitro tech called whey gold and I see bulky people on the front and get skeptical because I know I will need muscle building eventually but I'm trying to focus on losing a portion of my goal first (like lose 40 out of 80 pound goal) Or what are you thoughts? Should I be focusing on gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time at this point? Barely 3 weeks into my routine.

It should be fine as long as you're properly fitting it in to your calories/macros.

If you fit it in within your macros and calories, you should be fine. Personally, id skip the whey. A plant based protein power and a healthy, balanced diet should give you enough protein.

Whey is just food that happens to be high in protein like chicken or Greek yogurt. If it tastes good and fits your calories, macros, or whatever you are counting, go ahead and drink it. If you would rather eat something instead that's a great choice too.

Nobody ever regretted starting strength training sooner rather than later. It will help you hold onto the muscle you have and if you're lucky build some muscle while you are losing fat.

Yeah on some days when i drink my meal replacement I just don't eat a lot but enough like around 1400 but my goal is 1860 so I suppose it wouldn't do harm to drink it after my 30 minute workout. For right now all I'm doing is walking and a 30 minute circuit workout on YouTube but I'll also be starting a cardio and yoga class once I'm back in school later this month. I'm barely going on my 4th week on mfp so I just want to know I'm doing the right things rather than later being like oh I could have done it differently! Thanks for the feedback :)
