Fitbit and MFP

Question: I use the "Active Daily Activity" on my Fitbit as my exercise. As a teacher I'm on my feet all day, walking around, and monitoring students...but because it's not exercise in the traditional sense, it doesn't register as exercise on the Fitbit app, but I upload it as "walking, leisurely pace." So for example, out of my 8 hour workday, it registered 4 active hours, so I uploaded 240 minutes "walking, 2.0 mph slow pace." Does that make sense, or should I not do that? I know I'm active during the day, I mean most of my hours get 250+ steps...I just don't know how to document that here. Help!

You should only log non-step based activity, such as horseback riding, cycling, or rowing in MFP, and let Fitbit count all step based activity. Make sure your start time for any non-step based activity logged in MFP has the correct start time to ensure there is no double counting for the activity during that time period.
Individual activities logged in Fitbit will not transfer to MFP, however, the Calories burned during those activities will be transferred from Fitbit to MFP in a single Fitbit Calorie adjustment that updates throughout the day.
I would recommend reading through the first three posts in this thread on the MFP Fitbit Users group...
