22. The brain itself cannot feel pain.
Spend enough time reading some of the "How hot is the person above you", "X food is EVIL/bad/dangerous", or "Detox" threads and your brain will start feeling pain.0 -
But honestly I do not believe most of that. What is your source?0 -

More to the point number 22 is actually true. If we cut off the top of your head and touched your brain directly you would not be able to feel the touch of the brain. The Slurpee example that you have pointed out is called a brain freeze but that is a misnomer. It is not the actual brain freezing that causes the head ache.
The one where is says the brain has 5 times the information of an encyclopedia. I think that is a bit short. The brain has so much storage capacity that it is would be capable of recording all of the footage on a television channel for 300 years.
I am also extremely skeptical of number one.0 -
13. Stress causes ulcers
Wrong. H. pylori causes most ulcers. And it can be found in the substance that allows flies to walk on a wall.
So cover up your food!0 -
12 is incorrect also - size of the human brain is unknown, assumed to be virtually unlimited. Accurate recall, however, is a different matter
Quite a few of them, like the ulcer one, are based on popular mythology and simplification of science.
Pity really, for many people it won't matter. For me though, it is irritating as I have to unteach many students who arrive with such tut in their 'everyone knows it is true' box of information.0 -
25. If you *kitten*, you will grow hair on the palm of your hands.0

Lol! Slurpee pain is the worst! The spit ones grossed me out. I HATE spit. I'll never be able to look at a swimming pool that same way again. Thanks.0 -
I would dispute most of those facts, but I can't be bothered.......0
