Water, tea, wine occasionally and a sip of beer here in there. Some days I'll have half a bottle or something.

Only water - sometimes with lemon or lime juice, occasionally with a splash of unsweetened tart cherry juice. And sometimes I'll have caffeine free herbal tea.

I will make blended smoothies once in a while - water, kale, cilantro, pineapple, lime. But then you're getting the fiber and everything from the veggies in there, and I love the taste so it's worth it to me.

Gave up drinking alcohol, juices, milk, anything with caffeine, or more than a couple calories in it. For me the decision is to eat/drink things that I enjoy and are worth the calories. I've always disliked milk and get plenty of calcium in my diet. Juices taste way too sweet to me, etc.

I tend to drink a lot of water, now. I'll put in some lemon from time to time. I drink a lot of different teas. My favorite is jasmine. I also like oolong, white tea, green tea, Lady Grey, Darjeeling, Prince of Wales... I could go on forever about tea. Usually, I'll put some jasmine packets into a pitcher, stick it in the fridge and drink it throughout the week. I was recently sent some Arnold Palmer half & half mix. You'll have to check the packages, but the one I got was 5 calories per 8oz glass. It's a little high on the sugar side, but it's good for when I want something sweet. I also use those Kraft MIO water shots a lot. Probably not the best thing for you, but probably also better than pop and juice.

Water and Ice cold seltzer (unflavored). When I am really needing something else I will occasionally have a diet coke or a non alcoholic beer like an O Douls

Water, mainly because I can no longer have caffeine (sooooo miss coffee), sodas don't appeal to me, and I've never been much of a milk drinker.

However, a little concerned about your statement "desperate to lose weight..." Don't be desperate, and don't deprive yourself. Recipe for disaster. That being said, I don't think depriving yourself is the same as controlling yourself. Make good choices for you, log everthing accurately, and if you need cream in your coffee to feel satiated, then have it. Just measure it accurately, log it, and enjoy the heck out of it! Have a good day!!!
  • Green tea, water, black coffee and other unsweetened tea/coffee beverages. I don't like drinking my calories...(but will always make an exception for the occasional milkshake!)

Speaking of milkshakes, I highly reccomend Baskin Robin's gold medal ribbon milkshake next time you want to treat yourself! I share a small one with my boyfriend at least once a week.

I think watching your calories will do the trick. Obviously don't load up on sugary beverages, but count your calories. LOG LOG LOG. The weight loss will come. Give your body three weeks. Personally, I drink water, coffee, unsweetened ice tea, and on rare occasion a diet dr. pepper. Moderation is key. Good luck on your weight loss journey!!!

Green tea has a lot of antioxidants and other healthy properties in it. Water is important for rehydrating so your metabolism doesn't slow.. I would say you are off to a pretty good start with what to drink.. Have you tried Almond Milk or Soy milk? Those might be good.
