Hello everyone! This is my first post so bear with me! I am thinking about starting the Keto diet but don't know much about how to start. I have done online research and have a general idea but I am from southern Georgia and am worried I may not like the food in the meal plans, yet I am willing to give it a shot! I am currently at 17% bf and weigh 185 lbs. I have heart disease and am looking to better myself. Any suggestions or tips? Thanks in advance!!!

Since you have heart disease, you may want to consult with a doctor before a major change in diet. I'm not following the latest literature on keto diet, but if it hasn't changed much in some time, then your on-boarding should be a two-week period of as close to zero carbs as possible. At that point, you can add a small amount of carbs back into your diet (perhaps < 20g a day). Meat, fish, eggs, and cheese are the core group of low/no carb foods. Nuts are a lower, but not zero, carb snack choice. Most people on here will say that keto or not, you must monitor your calories and, to lose weight, keep them below your goal. Back when I did keto, I did not monitor calories at all and it was quite effective regardless. But, everyone's different.
Hope this helps, best of luck!1
