why wouldn't you? I don't while myself while on vacation, but I like having an idea when I leave and come back to how much things changed (since I tend to eat looser on vacation, not work out as much - BUT acknowledging that it likely isn't actual weight gain, but water weight/travel weight etc)1

? Do you want to know how much you weigh before you go? then weigh yourself. If you don't care what the scale says, then don't. Nobody can tell you if you should weigh yourself. Would I? Yes, but I'm not you. I weigh myself every day and would want to know what I was before vacation.
but again, I'm not you. if you want to weigh yourself, or if you don't, do whatever works for you instead of asking a bunch of strangers what to do. lol3 -
LMAO. You can do anything you want.

Of course. You won't be able to start a "help I gained 10lbs in 5 days" thread otherwise!23

I weigh myself before a vacation. Then I don't weigh during the vacation. Then I weigh when I get back from the vacation.2

I've seen a lot of suggestions not to weigh yourself for a week or so after getting back from vacation, to help stave off the "help I gained 10 lbs in 5 days" syndrome. Maybe plan on that if you're worried you'll freak out?3

Awesome response. That made me chuckle.
To Op, weigh before you go and weigh when you return or you could very quickly lose track and struggle to get back into your pre-vacation routine.1 -
What does a vacation next week have to do with weighing yourself today? If you want to know what you weigh then get on the scale, if you don't want to know then don't. Same goes for any other day.3

No, whatever you do, don't do it....1

Will this be the last vacation you take in your life? Probably not, so just consider it a normal part of life, which it is. Look at the calendar. There are a bunch of holidays on there. They come around every year. Same concept. Better to learn now how to deal with the curves life throws at you. Not weighing yourself will not teach you anything.1

I weighed myself before I went on vacation, tracked EVERYTHING I ate, smh, came back, assessed the damage. Got back on track. I think it's informative for me to know what effect, "vacationing" has on my body. You might find it enlightening!1

Do, or do not. You'll weigh what you weigh regardless of whether you know the number.3
