Weight fluctuating question

I get on the scale in the mornings before my shower no clothes on. Last weigh in I was at 220 lbs, that evening I was at 226 lbs no clothes on. Is this normal fluctuation?

So you weighed yourself in the morning before eating or drinking anything, and then weighed yourself in the evening with a full day of food and fluids inside you? Yes, your fluctuation is normal.

For comparison, i "gain" 2.6lbs after having just one cup of coffee and one cup of tea in the morning, no food or other fluids. I dread to think how much I'd weigh after a full day of eating and drinking. I've never weighed myself at night, as it would be an inaccurate number, i weigh first thing in the morning after the loo and before eating or drinking anything.

I generally weigh 3 lbs more before bed than I do in the morning. Sometimes I will weigh at night as a way to see roughly what morning might be, but the morning weigh in is all that matters.

They're all accurate. (I know I'm nitpicking here....), but this should remind us that our weight is a range...not a number.

I weigh less halfway through the day after half my daily calories are consumed...sometimes. Sometimes not.

To the OP: yep. Normal fluctuation.

Yes true Mr Nitpicker  I'd just rather choose a time where i know my weight will be at it's lowest, which for me is first thing in the morning.

Yes. Absolutely normal, you now have food and drinks in your stomach. That's why weighing yourself every morning with simliar clothing is so important to monitoring your weight. By evening there are too many variables, food drink, worked out, heavier clothes....

Exactly. I'd say weighing yourself first thing in the morning on an empty stomach is far more accurate than weighing at night unless you're eating and drinking the same things in the same quantities at the same times every single day. Why take a weight that has far more variables to factor in?

It's normal. If it helps, look at it the other way around. You magically lose weight overnight! I play a game where I try to predict my morning weight based on what I weigh right before bed. On average, I tend to lose 4-5 pounds while sleeping and through my morning 'pit stop'.
