Ok so group runs. I am worried . I signed up for one tonight. They are meeting at a running store and then run 3 (me) or 5 (no chance) miles to a brewery which is giving all runners a free beer. Some questions
1. How slow is too slow for something like this I run 12 min miles
2. Any etiquette rules I should know for group runs?
3. Will everyone else already know each other?

Basically I am nervous but would like to become part of running community.
Fyi just past c25k doing bridge to 10k

Don't be nervous, go & have fun. I've never done one of those myself, but they seem like fun. I've been at bars when groups have stopped by on a run.

Have fun with it. There will no doubt be others that run your speed. If not, someone will run with you. Its not a race and folks are there to have fun. You will find that runners are some of the most welcoming and supportive people on the planet.

We have a Beer Runners group here in town. They are a nice group, all ages, all abilities. Some race every week, some only run once a week. We run from a different place every week and return for a beer and/or dinner. It's fun.

Ok I was the slowest but I had fun ,ran 3 miles, had a beer and met some folks. A good evening

Awesome! That sounds like a great way to do running - except I don't like beer - wish I did as there's a lot of cool breweries around here... But how fun! Glad you got past the fear and did it. Keep going and you probably won't be the slowest for long.

A lot of folks run with the beer runners who don't drink beer. Some drink wine, some drink soda or water. It's the social aspect they come for.
