How can I feel full and hungry at the same time?

Went from eating as many healthy calories that I wanted to 1200 cal. The first 2 weeks I was starving ... always. Lost 5#. This week I don't feel hungry before I eat, and then eat and feel full, but then 30 min later I feel hungry. I'm trying to do a lower carb diet. NO sugar and no white flour. Don't know if I'm not eating enough or if I'm just not eating the right combination of carb30%/fat40%/protein30%. I've recalculated the number of calories that I'm suppose to eat, but it always comes out the same.

Maybe low carb isn't for you?
I can't do it as I feel full with fibre.0 -
I'd suggest trying a plant based diet focused on nutrient dense food. You can fill your stomach, true, but how are you filling your cells? Look up some meal plans for plant based, nutrient rich foods. I guarantee you'll begin feeling better. And if you stick with it for two weeks, I guarantee you will both drop weight and see a major shift in your over all health.9

Don't focus on "low" anything. Focus on "high" protein, fiber, fat, etc. When you get enough of the right thing, you won't feel hungry. Every body is different.3

Also, low carb is very bad. You should not be eating white flours and sugar, but you should be eating whole grains, fibrous plants, and nutrient rich berries and starches.8

Why should I not eat sugar or white flour?3 -
It could be a number of things, adjusting your intake macros can help, I feel less hungry when I eat more fat & protein. For a while, I combined my snacks to have right after I ate. Personally, I ate "healthy" before I lost weight but ate too much at one sitting & got used to feeling a certain way after eating so it's not always easy to just have one serving. One thing I found that helps me is after my one serving, I have a large glass of water& do something to distract myself. The other thing I notice is if I eat something I really, really love, it give me more of an appetite even tho I'm not actually hungry so I try to not have those too often. Example is I just have grilled pork steak for lunch. It was 6.5oz, makes me want to eat more but it's left over from yesterday & the rest is for hubby lol. The other thing is maybe you're not eating enough calories. 1200 is the minimum. I can't do 1200 & lost 42lbs on 1400+. Maybe adjust your rate of loss. You have to eat what is sustainable for you
Im sure others on here will give you some good advice2 -
I am trying my best to eat whole foods. Veggies, salads, lean meats, eggs, nuts, fish, avocados, olive oil, fruits of all kinds. I know that I've read somewhere else on here that a calorie is a calorie, but I don't believe that. Nutrient dense calories are best. It's a personal choice to stop sugar and white flour. I believe they are empty calories and are the root of all health problems. Others may not feel that way, but that's my belief. That's why I'm saying a 'lower' not 'low' carb diet, focusing on eating the healthy stuff.
I almost think that Evamutt has what I'm feeling down pat. Years of eating what I want and feeling a certain way. I have a long way to go to get to my healthy weight. Thanks2 -

That's quite a judgment call there. You might keep in mind that quite a lot of people live happily and healthily on a low carb program. Vegan is not the only healthy way to live.1
