Tuning in to physical signals

Hi, I am new to My Fitness Plan though have been on the diet treadmill many times. That is exactly why I am going to try something very different to start off. I am not going on a diet. I am going to listen to my body. That's it for the first few days or however long it will take me. Today I am only going to eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. For each other instance, I'm going to listen to my body, think about it and then refer back to; am I or am I not hungry? Does this make sense to any one? I just feel like if I log another calorie or add up any more points I'm going to quit again. Looking for feedback

That is exactly how I did it. I tried measuring and weighing and logging for about a month but it became very clear this was not something I would do long term. So, I just paid attention to my body and what it needed. I lost about 30 lbs (my goal) and have kept it off for about 1.5 years, during which I dropped another 5 lbs.

Measuring and logging can be useful but it's not for everyone.

Remember that it takes about 20 min for your brain to get the signal that your stomach is full. So if you eat until you feel full, you could end up eating a lot more than your body really needs. That's how a lot of us gained weight, eating til we felt full. I'm not saying it won't work for you, just be aware of the risks.
