question about weight loss

it's been a week since i've started eating healthy and going to the gym. my diet if the last week hasn't been great (i had a bag of m&ms, white bread & fruit bread as a snack. 2 rocky roads and 2 crunchy bars) but even still it's a lot better than it was before where i would eat bags and bags of sweets and chocolate.

so my question is, how did i manage to lose 3 pounds while eating like that?

    You ate fewer calories than you burned. You can do this while eating things like white bread and M&Ms.

    It's all about calorie balance......CICO (calories in vs. calories out).

    I eat all that. I log it. If I go over a bit for that day, I try a bit harder the next day.
    I love Dollar store individually wrapped chocolates. Kitkats, and pepermint patties. The ice cream I weigh it on a food scale and enjoy.
