I love em. They are so filling too. I was just reading that Katy Perry and a few other celebs chow down on them for weight loss.

I'm finding more and more, my stir-fry is almost half mushrooms. Anybody here have success by loading up on them in their diet?

Tell me if I'm doing something horrible too. Would hate to find out that a weight loss plateau would be caused by it, or that my toes have started to rot off.

They're just low calorie fiber. No magic to those mushrooms.

Mushrooms are great for you but aren't a magic weight loss food. I think they do have more protein than most vegies (I could be wrong) so that might account for them being filling. They are also versatile, so great with many things.

Mushrooms yum! We like to get the big portabella caps and fry them in a skillet with a little bit of Mrs.Dash and Worcestershire sauce. We use them as our main item and have them with another veggie and sometimes some brown rice.

Mrs. Dash and Worcestershire!!!! Sounds awesome! I was just thinking about adding a touch of balsamic to add something. Sometimes they do seem a little bland.

Thanks for the tip. I love Worcestershire. Don't know why I didn't think of that. So great to get new ideas from others! Thanks!

Great source of potassium too. Ate a cup and a half last night. The mouth feel is meat like and gives me a psychological edge. All that being said some mushrooms have toxins so I try to avoid buttons.

I use them as a substitute for ground meat or addition to a lot of my meat dishes. My lasagna, ravioli, meatballs, and burgers are all mushroom based, and I add them to almost all of my chicken and beef dishes. I've always loved mushrooms. When I was a kid, I would eat raw, canned, or cooked mushrooms every chance I got. And I still do. My husband counted one month. I went through 15 boxes of mushrooms in a month. So, yeah, I like them too! We're looking to start growing our own for fun.

Love the pizza idea. That's terrific too.

Do you use low-fat mozzarella? What do you use for sauce? Pizza sauce? We really like BBQ chicken pizza. Does anyone have a good idea for BBQ sauce? Do they sell no sugar sauce? Any good?

Mushrooms are awesome! There's nothing special about them, sure, except they taste yummy! Oh and...2 grams protein and two grams of carbs per 70 grams! Vitamin C, vitamin D, niacon, folate, choline, betaine, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc....

I use fat free mozz or lowfat or the regular stuff, depends on whats in fridge and how my day looks...
...sometimes use sauce and sometimes hummus...
bbq sauce and spaghetti sauce tend to be higher in sugars, but read the labels - some are WAY better than others....
pesto also makes nice alternative to red sauce also...
