Keeping it off

I have a different kind of problem, I think. I never have a problem loosing the weight. My wife does all the shopping and meal preparation. While I'm loosing weight she helps with the right kinds of food and quantities. Once I get the weight off all the help stops and shes back buying the high carb and high fat stuff. Then I put it all back on. Since she does all the shopping and food prep I don't know how to get over that hurdle. Any ideas?

Just ask her to carry on with it once you've lost? Or at least to a certain extent. She must have noticed if you keep losing and putting weight back on, just say you need to keep up with the healthy lifestyle once you've hit your goal.0

Why can't you help with the meal planning and shopping? Do it together and go shopping together. That way you can ensure you are getting what you want and she ensures she's getting what she wants.
You can still have the high carb and high fat foods... just track your calories and keep an eye on your portion sizes.0 -
Stop dieting and start picking up healthy habits like exercise and cleaner eating.0

I see from your profile that you are 70, so I am going out on a limb and assuming that you and your wife are pretty set in your ways. It would be nice if you could get more involved in meal planning, but if that's not going to happen then set your goal weight about 5 pounds lower and don't go over 10 pounds above that before losing again. Maintenance isn't always about staying exactly the same weight. That's optimal, but yoyoing on a really short string and staying in a range that is healthy is an alternative.0
