I've never been to Pennsylvania but have lived in Kansas for over 10 years.
I guess it depends on what criteria you are looking at.
Cost of living? Crime rate? Politics? Employment opportunities? Diversity? Tourist destinations? Nature? Friendliness of people?

I like some things about Kansas. I think it is a beautiful state with lots of wide open spaces. My lower middle class family could afford to buy a 3 bedroom home with a large yard here. We have met many wonderful people here.
Downside for most of the state would be less diversity, fewer job opportunities or entertainment options, too Republican

I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me, a lowly Canadian, why Kansas is pronounced Kan-zis but Arkansas is pronounced Ar-kan-saw

I used to say Arkansiz til I learned different. I thought Kansas City was a City in Arkansas

Pennsylvania is worse than Kansas. In PA people make and eat "Head Cheese." In Kansas they have steak.

I am from Missouri and and I am 100% sure it is Kansas.

Philly, PA only threw batteries at Santa Claus - cut them some slack.

    Nebraska is pretty dumb too

    Nebraska?

I spent a month there one day.

Everyday seems like a month there...especially if you are driving.

I encountered a bit of road rage in Western Nebraska.

Some guy took issue with my lane change.

Being from Los Angeles, I regarded it as a run-of-the-mill, everyday, mundane kind of lane change.

He seemed to take it personally.

I treated it like the way I treat most of life's lil' issues; I ignored it.

    Still........ Nebraska

For the same reason that cough, bough, through and though don't rhyme, but for some reason pony and bologna do. English is weird.

    Duh, of course.

As long as you recreate this.

Pennsylvania because you have to make a separate trip to a state-run liquor store to buy beer.

This isn't quite true, you could only purchase 6 or 12 packs of beer from a bar or full cases from state licenced distributors until about 5 years ago. You can now purchase up to 160 ounces (not 100% on that amount but it's close to that) from licenced convenience, or grocery stores. Any quantity can still be purchased from a state licenced beer only distributors.

Wine can be purchased at wineries or licenced convenience or grocery series, liquor at distilleries, both can be purchased at state stores.
