Hi! I was wondering.. when I cut up a veggie I plan to bake and I have say 6oz of it raw on the scale is that what I count when I log it or do I cook it then weigh it and log it when it's 1.5-2 ounces lighter? This always confuses me. Thanks! :)

I weigh and log it raw, as the only thing that disappears during cooking is moisture, so all the calories are still there. But if you're choosing a cooked database entry, in theory that should be accurate-ish too, but because the longer you cook it, the more moisture is lost, I think that raw is far more accurate.

Thank you that's a great point.. you don't lose calories just moisture! Wonderful! Thanks
