I am going into a religious fast for a short time but I do not want my metabolism to drop. Any advice?

You can try to do some hiit. Google it, it helps burning calories waaaaay after you finish the training. Another strategy you can use is eat a little more often, like 2 to 2 hours and eat 10/30g of fiber/day. Good luck!! I hope i could be of any help11

You can't do much about it, and it's not like you'll gain weight by not eating.3

If it's only a short time it's honestly unlikely to make a difference. You may possibly burn fewer calories while your fasting, as your body tries to conserve energy where it can, but it will return to normal once you start eating properly again. What you will likely see once the fast is over is an initial jump on the scale. This is from glycogen replenishment and food weight in your system - ie not fat gain, so nothing to worry about. It will level out pretty quickly. If you were to not weigh yourself during the fast and for the first few days after, you wouldn't even notice4
