I have gain a total of 33kg during my pregnancy and only manage to lose off 13kg after 8 months of breastfeeding. I was told breastfeeding helps to lose weight rapidly but why doesn't it work on me? How much calories intake recommended for me to lose weight without affecting the production of milk for my baby?

Probably need more details about your height, etc., but I would aim for around 2000 per day to keep supply up and lose weight. The general rule is that BFing "burns" around 500 calories per day, but that can decrease once your baby starts eating solids (and I assume yours is). Try eating 2000 per day for two weeks and see what happens. You should not aim to lose more than .5 of a pound per week, although a loss of one pound is probably fine. I'm sorry I don't know the kg conversions!0

Some women lose easily while breastfeeding, some find that their supply is easily impacted and they are not able to lose much while breastfeeding if they wish to keep their supply up. How many calories you specifically need depends on your height, weight, activity level, milk production, and how responsive you supply is to a calorie deficit.
