Hi, is it only me that has food on the brain constantly and can't stop eating. I lost so much weight on here previously I was a size 10 but I've let myself go piling the weight back on and now I'm back up to a size 12-14 :( because I've been eating so much my stomach has stretched and now a small portion doesn't fill me up. I feel an urge to satisfy myself as so hungry and cannot help it. I can't remember from last time but how long does it take to shrink the stomach if I really put my mind to it? Kind regards Millie

If food is on your mind constantly I would assume you are not eating enough or enough of the right foods! Make sure you are not cutting food groups, eat plenty carbs, proteins and good fats and veggies at each meal and also be sure to snack and not go long periods without food.
I would think after only a couple of days your stomach will start shrinking back to normal. Make sure you drink plenty as well!

Your stomach is elastic and stretches out to accomodate what you eat.

If you lose weight too fast or by cutting out food groups or food you like, you will feel deprived and want to make up for it later.

You can indeed stop eating. But you can't "just stop eating" in an environment filled with food. You have to make sure you eat regularly, enough, varied, balanced, and food you like, and keep foods you would tend to overeat too easily, out of reach. Then schedule meals, plan them in sufficient detail, and follow the plan. I suggest you focus on this, which is something you can do :)

Make sure you eat enough during your principal meals ( lunch and dinner ) to reduce unnecessary snacking. One tip could be, a mixed fresh fruit bowl to munch on when you feel hungry at odd times. I found it good to keep away from high calorie off the shelf snacking items.

Once reach adulthood our stomach pretty much remains the same size.
Your stomach will only shrink if you have surgery.
What happens when you lose weight is you
    ' Reset' your appetite thermostat.
So you are satisfied with less.

I agree with above comments. It's not so much how much you eat, but what you eat.
And the caloric intake of course.
'Macro's', as you will hear a lot of on MFP.
Consider higher protein, whole grain, high fibre, high calcium and plant based foods along with at least three litre of water a day.

You can satisfy even a ravenous appetite with these foods and feel satisfied, well within your caloric goals.

Google has many recipes as does MFP who can help with many help tips and hacks.
