Ground Turkey v. Ground Beef?

Just a way to cut out a few calories. I dont think the taste would be too different? I'll try anything once!0

I almost always use extra lean ground beef. If you are concerned about the fat, once you have browned the beef put it in a strainer and rinse it with water to get rid of the extra grease. I have seen that suggested in many places on the internet.
Ewww that's just gross. What's wrong with eating fat?0 -

Nothing wrong, just saw it online that's all.0 -

I have tried it and no it doesn't affect the taste, especially if you are using the beef to make chili or spaghetti sauce.0 -
Thats exactly how I'd be using it. For taco, spaghetti, etc.
I also made a meatloaf and used one of those drip loaf pans. So all the grease drained from it as it cooked. Turned out really awesome and I didnt notice any difference.0 -
I use ground turkey in taco/chili/spaghetti type recipes but prefer my burgers to be beef. For me, it's cheaper to buy lean ground turkey instead of lean ground beef.
Now, ground chicken is a completely different story and it'll be a long, long, long while before I try that again.0 -

I use 80/20 GB with white meat GT in my spaghetti sauce. Roughly 50-50 for each, browned, and seasoned properly. #DaBomb.COM0

I love both, but I prefer ground turkey. I always get those when I make spaghetti, dirty rice, etc. but ground chicken is really different. Different look and different texture.0
