Hi, I'm Mandy. I'm about to turn 32 and I guess I've finally realized that I should be taking care of myself. After smoking since I was 16 I quit May 16, 2017. Despite the joy of that-it caused me to gain even more weight. I started logging my food around August 10th and it's a big wake up call to me about what I am putting into my body. I definitely need to increase my exercise-even if its just walking my dog.

I struggle to find low calorie recipes that I enjoy. I'm a REALLY picky eater so feel free to share any that you have! I don't like chicken, fish, onions and the list goes on and on. :D

My boyfriend & son are very supportive however there's nothing like support of others that are going through the same thing! Feel free to add me!

8lbs is awesome! Well done you :) I'm super picky too lol.. It does make it hard but as long as it fits in your calories then it's OK :) Strong attitude and consistency will see you right... Good on you :#<3

Hi, welcome and good luck. I am here mostly to get my fitness levels back to where they were when I was here before and to maintain my weight, maybe gain a few Ibs. This site might be useful to you if you do not already know of it.

Welcome! It's nice to have a good support system, in real life and/or on here. For the picky eating, try and eat what you like just smaller and weighted out portions. Every month try something new. I'm 31 and recently discovered I like a few things I use to hate so maybe tastebuds can change. But simply eat what you like that fits into your calorie goals. I'm 34lbs down with about 20lbs to go.

Do you like pork tenderloin? It's surprisingly low cal and easy to make ahead and use in sandwiches or stir fry.

I read a study about picky eaters not too long ago which found that some people need to eat a food between seven and eleven times to learn to like it. It's all about creating new pathways in your brain. You don't have to shovel down food you hate, just taste one bite and if you don't like it, try again another time. If your boyfriend or friends are having something you aren't, just maybe a bite from their plate.

What kinds of foods do you like? That would help people make suggestions.

Congrats on quitting smoking! Best of luck to you!
