Edit: you may be a book series if you want. 3 books equals movie trilogy!

It's so hard to pick just one, so I thought 3 would be better!

1) Dark Tower Series from Stephen King
2) The Dragonlance Chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
3) The actual Golden Compass Series by Bill Pullman

The first Golden Compass movie they made was a complete disaster. They did not remain true to the first book. But I loved the books from Pullman.

    1. Lone Survivor (really doesn't count since the movie will be out this Dec. Profile creep me for picks of the set)
    2. Horse Soldiers (The first couple months of Operation Enduring Freedom)
    3. The New Jedi Order book series (Yes, I am a geek)

Anything by Mercedes Lackey. I guess that's more than three...
  • 1. The Engagements - I hear that Reese Witherspoon bought the film rights for this book, so I hope it comes out. I'm halfway through and it's great!
    2. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? - Mindy Kaling's book was so funny. I love her funny attitude towards life. I would like to see her write a film about dealing with life
    3. Suzzane's Letters to Nicholas by Nick Sparks or James Paterson - such an adorable story about how precious life is - would love to see this

They only managed to tell the first 2/3's of the first book. It didn't translate well for one, and they changed Lord Asriel into an unequivocally good hero. Asriel was more complicated (as you probably know because it sounds like you may have read the books). The way they changed him in the movie, they would never be able to make the remaining books into movies. They now would have to redo the first book.

Plus, since they failed to pace the movie, they pretty much made the ending really abrupt, so audiences left extremely dissatisfied. The movie didn't do well in part because the sudden ending really turned off movie-goers. And if you read the first book, you realize that they only covered about the first half of the book in the 2 hour movie.

If they made the books into good movies--and honest translations of the series--it really would be awesome.

I'm shocked nobody said 50 Shades of Grey trilogy, probably because nobody wants to admit they're up for a good porn haha ;)

Logan's Run. I know there was already a movie, but I would love to see the full trilogy, and have them actually follow the books.

I agree with The Golden Compass. But I don't see that as ever happening.

A comic book, but Locke and Key would be amazing. So would I Kill Giants.

    1. I second the call for an capable adaptation of the His Dark Materials trilogy...the Golden Compass was barely watchable!
    2. The Book of Lost Things, by John Connelly
    3. The Long Walk, by Steven King (a Bachman book)
