Howdy,

I've been using MFP consistently for almost 3 months now, figured I'd finally dive into the community and say hello.

My name is Jon, this is my weight loss and overall fitness journey.

I started tracking my weight about 2 months ago at 275 LBS and 45% body fat, the heaviest I've ever recorded myself. I'd been dieting for about a month before that, so I don't even want to think where I was at my heaviest.

As of today I'm down to 255 at about 40% body fat. My goal is 170, so I have a very very long road ahead of me.

MyFitnessPal has been the most important component of my journey, it's incredible what just seeing the calories in your food does to help you control them. I'm now regularly consuming about 1250 Cal per day, and working out 30 minutes to an hour. I mostly do high intensity weight lifting, with some cardio. I still can't run, and at my current weight I'm hesitant to run regularly anyways until I strengthen my muscles and shed some weight. But I make an effort to get out and walk a minimum of 30 minutes or 2 miles, whichever comes later (2 miles is the binding constraint at the moment) at least 3 times a week.

For strength training I first worked through this exercise plan:

And lost about 10 pounds total over the 4 weeks, even though in the final week I was on a business trip to New York and my diet was less than perfect.

Since finishing I've moved on to this plan:

http://www.muscleandfitness.com/workouts/workout-routines/reform-90-day-transformation-program-every-man

where I just completed week 4, dropping another 10.

2 weeks ago I also added supplements to my diet regimen. I'm now taking the Beyond Raw - Lit pre-workout supplement before workout, the Jym Post supplement immediately after workout, followed by the Jym Pro protein shake. If anybody is considering supplements as part of their regimen, I can't speak highly enough about this stack. I have more energy during my workouts, and far far far less soreness and stiffness after workouts than I did the first several weeks I was lifting weights without any supplementation.

Anyways, that's my story. Thank you for reading.
