I'm planning on trying to go keto starting next week Wednesday but am wondering if anyone has had any results with it here or any issues with it.

(I was at 185.4 lbs in March 2016)
I started following KETO on January 17, 2017. I am 5' 6 1/2" and my starting weight was 171.4 and got down to 140 by the end of April. I have maintained this weight all Summer long and will continue to closely follow the KETO way of eating.

I felt like I was starving, could not go to the toilet and had no energy. That was on a 2 week vacation where I mainly ate meat. Even the flatbread I had in the morning was soaked in fat. When I returned home I found that I'd lost a lot of weight. Need to say though that I don't pull much energy out of protein and fats and mainly live of carbs. So basically I was starving.

Other than that Keto is no magic. It still comes down to eating less than your body needs

I have been on keto for almost a year. Reached goal weight in May and have been maintaining since. I plan to eat this way for life. I love the foods I eat and am very content with this way of eating. Do your research and decide for yourself if you would like to try it. It is not a magic bullet. You still have to count calories but you may find you naturally eat less. That does not happen for everyone.

Some things to consider .. If you are a volume eater this may not be for you. It is less convenient as there is a lot of cooking and food prep. Some say it is more expensive. I have found the opposite. My grocery bill has been reduced by about 1/3. It may be a "where you live" thing. It isn't a license to eat all the fat! Keto is low carb, moderate protein with fat to SATIETY.

YMMV as always and remember it takes just as much dedication and commitment as any other way of eating.

I've been keto since may-14. Gone from 217lb at my heaviest to 113lb today. For me it's a lifestyle change... I know that I can't go back to the way I used to eat. This is a good read for starters, https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/keto.

It actually worked really well for me. I started in Nov '15 and lost over 20 lbs by March '16 (I only had 20 lbs to lose so I was pleased it went relatively quickly). I wasn't a super strict keto'er; I aimed for 30-40 gm net carbs most days. I had some unexpected side benefits as well: my reflux and GI issues cleared up, joint pain I'd been dealing with really improved, increased running endurance, etc. For me it also really helped with satiety and adherence. I've stayed LCHF since then, though I play around some with different macros within that range to see what effects I notice.
And of course the standard disclaimer that we're all different, YMMV, but it's worth trying if you're interested. Let us know how it goes!
