Anyone else gone to the extent of analysing their weight loss with a trend line?
I have made a spreadsheet in which I can enter a date and get the weight I will be based on current progress. Or enter a weight and it will give me the date I'll be at weight.
I have found it helpful as I have signed up for a couple of fights which you need to be a certain weight for.

I don't do anything like this because I think it sets you up for disappointment. Weight lose will not always happen consistently and if you feel like you're not where you're supposed to be you may end up quitting.

I used a free app for this same thing - found a lot of value in it.

I do this to help work out how accurate my tracking is and see how to adjust my weekly and monthly averages since I use a TDEE model and vary my calories during the week. I've found it to be pretty accurate over time so long as I'm smart about my goals and honest with myself about what I'm doing and should be doing - certainly not day to day and sometimes not week to week, but month to month it works pretty well.

It helps keep me on track, if I have a week where my loss is not what I want I can visibly see it won't make a huge impact on overall progress.
There are always zigs and zags on the graph, but each time I zig I know there will be a zag next time.

I use Trendweight.com. Syncs from my withings scale so I don't do anything but step on the scale every morning.
