Weigh in help!

I need opinions if possible!
I weighed myself on the 23rd of this month and wrote down my weight. I have always used the same scale and around the same time, with nothing in my scrub pockets and no other drastic changes. Always on an empty stomach. I weighed myself today, and I am a little bit less than that weight from the 23rd. Which is great....but I did also weigh myself between those two dates and the weight had gone up. How do I know that this new weight is accurate? I'd be so happy to see that I have in fact lost a little bit... but I get discouraged when it turns out the weight was inaccurate and I gained. If any one could give me some pointers on weigh ins that would be so much appreciated.

Your weight will fluctuate and has always fluctuated up and down for your whole life. Your weight is more than just fat, it is all the other stuff in your body, and this other stuff fluctuates as a natural part of your body doing all the stuff it needs to do. And especially for women, water weight goes up and down at different times during your monthly cycle. I can gain 4 lbs of water weight during PMS and it will be gone two days later. You are looking for a trend over weeks and months, day-to-day will always be a roller coaster!0

How much sodium we eat can cause our body to retain more or less water. So can hard or no exercise. So can high/low fiber meals. So can being dehydrated. Our weight fluctuates on a daily basis depending on what we're eating and drinking and how much we're sleeping. My husband will always gain 3 pounds after we eat at a salad bar. I've learned to never weigh myself after a restaurant meal or a long run. Don't worry about the day to day ups and downs. Look at the long term trends.0
