I know this app sets the calories needed to successfully lose weight based on current weight. I recently had gastric sleeve surgery and i am no where near taking in the amount of calories set for me. Is there a way to manipulate the calories to match someone taking in way less due to the restrictions of the surgery

No. MFP will not allow anyone to drop their calorie requirements below 1200 for women/1500 for men to make sure people get adequate nutrition. This doesn't mean you can't use MFP though. You can still log everything to what your surgical team has asked you to eat, but if you are eating below 1000 calories you will not be able to hit complete diary at the end of the day. And that isn't even required.0
