Lifting with the Boys

Easier said than done, but don't compare yourself with other people. They may have been lifting longer than you, they may have a strength /sports background, they're taller or shorter or have biomechanics that lend themselves to a particular lift... All these things will affect how you build muscle and gain strength.
Different people grow and gain strength at different speeds. My boyfriend can gain strength very easily and quickly. He can also drink pints of beer and maintain a 6 pack. I on the other hand, am a slow gainer. It took me 9 months to add 2.5 KG on to my bench once, and it wasn't even a heavy bench to start with and If I drink pints and pints; I go up a weight category.
Every body is different.
Strength is a slow game, you have to be consistent and trust the process. You'll get there.0
