Hi guys! So I'm new to this and I'm seeing a lot of words that I'm not familiar with. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with some of the terms I'll be seeing in this weight gain community. "Bulking" obviously means gaining. I've seen the words "upping", "surplus", "maintenance" (which I'm guessing means maintaining the weight you've gained?), etc. Could anyone explain these to me along with some other words I will be seeing as I further my weight gain journey? Thanks in advance! ❤️

Bulking- Gaining weight while lifting for the purpose of building muscle
Upping- Increasing. Can be used when someone needs to increase calories, weight lifted, or reps.
Surplus- Means eating above your maintenance calories (or eating above TDEE)
Maintenance- No weight loss, keeping weight steady, not trying to lose or gain weight1 -
TDEE - Total Daily Energy Expenditure; Basically measures how many calories your body burns in a typical day.0
