Training for fight but also losing weight

I'm currently trying to balance training for a muay thai fight with losing weight. The fight is my motivation to lose weight.
Any ideas on optimal nutrition?
I found out the hard way on Monday that spending my calories on carbs too much over protein left me without energy at the gym.
I have started having whey protein after a workout.
I'm working out up to 3hrs Monday to Thursday, Friday and Saturday usually less, rest on Sunday.
It's hard to.know exactly how many calories I'm burning as sometimes the training is more.technique than fitness.
Has anyone trained for a fight whilst losing weight and can give me some tips?

How much are you trying to lose? I trained in mma for a couple years. And a few of the guys I trained w swore by tuna. Its high protein and low calorie. It sounds like your training a lot so I wouldn't cut too many carbs as they replenish glycogen levels in the muscles. If you need more energy for workouts get a good pre workout energy supplement.0

I'm at 69kg, need to be 60kg for Nov 11 fight, 57kg for Dec 9th fight. I have started taking a pre workout at start of day for energy, but it is mostly different forms of caffeine (turbo genesis), I work out in the evening, if I took just before I would not be able to sleep as I'm not usually a caffeine drinker.
Is there pre workouts that don't contain caffeine? Just a good balance of exercise friendly stuff?0 -
In high school and college I wrestled. I would usually have to drop 10 to 15 pounds in a week or two before weighing in. I would cut sodium intake, do cardio, use protein powder and lift. Energy was zapped while lossing for weighing in. But we weighed in a day before the event so I would carb load after weighing in. I usually had 36 hours and would regain half of what I lost.0
