What does a HEALTHY 3000 calories look like?

I'm coming out of "diet" mode, and working my calories up, with some GREAT help from the mods of the Eat, Train, Progress group.

I'm at 2000 calories now, working it, not eating junk... but I AM STUFFED!!!!! Seriously, felt like a Thanksgiving dinner yesterday.

Thinking, that I'm probably going to end up around the 3000 mark in time because of how much I work out, but... how the HECK will I be able to get that into me?

Anyone on/around the 3000 and NOT doing it with pizza and ice cream?

Fatty foods like nuts and avocado are calorie dense

It might help to be sort of constantly eating, smaller amount more often.
Choose fattier cuts of meat, higher fat fish, use oils or butter in your cooking, add avocado to sandwiches, egg scrambles and salads. nuts are a good caloric food, and one serving never satisfies me, so there's that. Toast with peanut butter would be a delicious snack. If you haven't already, switch to full fat dairy.

    This ^

increase your fat consumption. Even add olive oil to things you already eat that way you increase cals without increasing food volume

I'm only at 2800 right now, but I've been upwards of 3500, 3800 before.

Sprouted grains, nut butters, nuts, whole wheat or vegetable based pastas, lots of fruits, granolas (from a health food store), cereals (I like Grape Nuts).

I've been on vacation recently so my diary is pretty sparse but you can take a look. I ate 1,000 calories before 11AM today. I'm also a vegetarian working towards vegan. If you drink dairy, a gallon of milk will get you there. :)

What they said regarding healthy fats. Maybe also reintroduce liquid calories. It's one of the first things we cut, you know, juice, beer, wine etc. Still stay away from soda probably but I think you could have some pulpy orange juice or a glass of wine?

Awesome suggestions everyone - my problem might be that I'm keeping my macros (for now) at 170/70/170, meaning there's not a whole lot of room for all that fat, but I'll get there eventually - funny how it's the high-fat things that taste the best hmmm? ;)

The liquid calories could be a good idea right now - good way to get the right macros without necessarily making me feel so stuffed. I don't do alcohol, but love a good glass of juice

I'm around 2700/2800 and just eat a whole avocado instead of a half...2 handfuls of nuts instead of one, etc. You're going to have difficulty if you don't make room for more fat. Also, a couple beers never hurt.

Definitely go for some peanut butter. Spread that sh** on a couple of bananas with some whole grain toast... That'll get you to 3000

But that is only 2000 cals, if you up to 3000 then your fat will also go up. If you keep the same % at 3000 cals you would have 255/105/255 = 2985 cals

Yeah ok, so it's going to happen naturally with the fat - it's good to know.

Not going to 3000 TOMORROW, but I know I'm on my way there - we're trying to "repair" the icky diet I had while I was losing the bulk of my weight - the first 30 kg were lost on craploads of cardio, and about 900 calories (which I THOUGHT was 1200, long story). So the upping of calories is happening gradually.

Now I'm lifting heavy and eating - working towards more weight and more food.
