Hi I am a mom of two teenagers(12yr daughter & 14yr son) and surrogate mom to a set of twins(10yrs old), and 2 little girls(7 yrs old & 3yrs old). So yes I can have given birth to 6 children which has lead to my current stay of weight. I am 5'7 and weigh 245lbs currently. I want to be my ideal weight of 145lbs within a year if at all possible. I have just started the process and know its a long journey. I am engaged to an amazing man and he is very supportive, but between him(115lbs) and my two kids(86lbs & 102lbs) weighing almost nothing it's hard for them to understand my struggles and they just think it should be easy. So I figured I would post on here and see if anyone wants to be a weight loss buddy. Either way I will reach my goal and be able to cosplay in my skimpy little outfits once again.

Proud of you for wanting to get healthy. I can understand how having so many babies has affected your weight and wish you all the best in your endeavors. I am also a mom (two children in elementary school). I've gained a bit of weight over the years and as the big 50 looms ever closer, I want to get healthier now since aging makes gaining weight really easy.

I, too, have a slender husband and find it infinitely frustrating that he just doesn't seem to gain weight. He doesn't eat a lot either, which is an obvious factor, but he hasn't even succumbed to the usual weight gain that comes with aging. Grrr ha ha

I wanted to share with you my success with the 5/2 diet in case it might be something you'd like to try. Extreme diets that ban whole food groups or cause what feels like perpetual deprivation turn me off. Same goes for expensive plans that control what you eat or make you track every bite you take. I don't have the time, money, or motivation to make weight loss a full-time job. The 5/2 plan is simple, free, and successful from day 1. You can easily find information online, but here's a quick summary.

Pick 2 days of the week (not consecutive) to consume only 500 calories total. On the other 5 days, eat as you might normally, barring excessive consumption. That's it. This is a form of "intermittent fasting" and promotes health benefits beyond weight loss.

For sure, eating basically one modest meal's worth of calories for the day is tough, but if you can survive the first week, you are sure to see results and the quick success is motivating and exciting. I have been shocked and pleasantly surprised by the absence of overwhelming urges to eat. Furthermore, eating so little causes the stomach to shrink and makes overeating the next day harder and even slightly painful.

This plan isn't for everyone, but I love it. The two days are hard, but they're not impossible and I enjoy having nothing to do on the other 5 days except eat what I like without consuming to the extreme.

Come to think of it, even if a person did overeat on the other 5 days, eating so little on two of the days is sure to still be of benefit and could very well help promote better eating heading into the regular days.

Some people prefer eating 3 tiny meals per day, but I found that to be harder. I'd rather just tough it out and sit down to a proper dinner than have only a single cheese stick for lunch. Felt more like a tease.

While I don't track all my meals (for reasons above), I like MyFitnessPal for the two days that I do and enjoy tracking my progress. After only 3 weeks, I've lost 10 pounds, without even exercising. That would have helped, I'm sure.

Anyway, I regret to confess that I can't be your fitness pal, but I'm super proud of you for wanting to get healthier and truly wish you success, joy, and peace.

Maybe we can check in with each other once in a while to see how things are going.

Keep up your efforts, they're worth the struggle.

    Take care
