It's not consistent enough to be a set exercise.
Sometimes it consists of zero work other times it feels like you're dying.
Also, it doesnt burn many calories.3 -
If I were doing it often enough to need to track the calories, I wouldn't need to track my calories and lose weight.5

As per the compendium of physical activities, while engaged in the activity you burn approximately 1.3x BMR which is just a touch above MFP's sedentary.
When actively, err, engaged at a, err, moderate pace, you go up to the approximate equivalent of about 1.8x BMR, which is just about the same amount of calories as MFP's very active setting for that time duration.
While going all out, so to speak, you go up to 2.8x BMR, which means you are using up slightly fewer calories than a moderate walk.

I admit I don't understand this as I am sure there are many, err, yoga/strength training inspired positions that, err, I am sure would require more effort than a moderate walk... but I admit to my lack of relevant personal experience; but, in the interest of science... I would be willing to consider...6 -

The more intense sexual workout, the more calories you will burn, obviously. Therefore, a sexual work out can burn as many calories as walking at 3 miles per hour to jogging at 5 miles per hour.2

Yeah, but how many people keep up that intense bit for an hour? Or even 10 minutes? This is where the myth that sex burns a ton of calories comes from...3 -
