NEW just started today Now what/?

I just started today. Last week I joined a gym, had my BOD POD done... disgusted! I purchased a FITBIT ZIP today and started using that, looked at myfitness pal and here I am!

I am 50 years old, I need to lose about 40 pounds. I had lost a ton of weight 2 years ago, then my thyroid function changed and I gained lots back... Now I am on thyroid replacement and need to get back to where I was.

I like many activities, but I just moved to Oregon from Minnesota and I do not have activity partners yet. When I do, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and archery.

Let me know where I start here... and suggestions?

    Get some kitchen scales [if not got already] and weigh everything, do not eyeball or guess portion sizes

    It seems a PIA to start, but as you start logging your food MFP builds a list of your common foods, and even your meals if regular ones, so as time goes by it gets easier
