Hello everyone, I have a protein question, Are you concerned with amount of protein or just calories? For a majority of my weight loss, I have focused on macros and calories, Because I weight train pretty heavy and hard as well, I have averaged at about 1750 calorie with 150g of Protein, 150 g of carbs and 64 g of fat, Sonetimes eating exercise calories back and sometimes not, It has been trial and error and a science project per se' It has been a slow process for me, I have went from 197 to 157 in 3 years, But it's a lifestyle and I have remained consistent. I have hit a plateau and my weight had not budged for weeks so I just recently dropped calories to 1240 and upped my cardio. I decided to just focus on calories and not macros as much to get the last 20 lbs off. I also don't mind if I lose some muscle mass because I feel a bit blocky ( see picture attached) so any input on not focusing on protein would be great

I do 140g a day (cal avg about 2700) - which is about 25% - protein is my focus so I plan it into my daily goals right

Seems a rather drastic reduction in calories for only a few weeks of stalling...

So yes, my focus is always protein. It supports muscle maintenence, recovery from exercise and metabolic functions. I also dont aggressively cut calories because its hard to sustain, can increase muscle loss (which means less fat loss), and can be difficult to get adequatr nutrients. This in turn would make my workouts crap.
