Does anyone else still play DDR? I played a lot as a teen, a bit in my early 20s, and decided to start again recently as I still have my PS2 and various DDR versions. The workout modes are great as they count the calories burned (and based on steps registered too, so it's more accurate).

I worked in an arcade and LOVED our DDR machines. I need to break down and get it for our Wii so I can do it again.

I have to get rid of one that doesn't register one arrow. I have a generic one that still works, but I have gone through so many that I know it won't last. I wonder how the metal pads compare though. I'm going to try some cheat codes to unlock songs today :)

Yes. I have one of those expensive metal pads I had shipped to me when I lived in Japan, lol. I'm fortunate that we have two PS2 systems that are still operational as I really like the old PS2 games compared to the newer ones that came out once PS3 and Wii became a thing.

How does it work compared to the normal ones? Every plastic/nylon or whatever material one I've had has ended up with the sensors slipping around :/

I used to be able to play for 4 hours nonstop, but that was when I was like 16 or 17. I wonder if I can get even close to that now? lol. I wish I had the japanese versions. They changed the american releases around, and I don't like a lot of the music that got added.

It's heavy and has a grip surface on the underside, so it's perfect for hard floors or carpets (assuming you aren't playing on a rug). Pretty durable. I've had it for 5 or so years and it's put up with me dancing on it when I weighed more than 200+ lbs.

This is what I have, btw:

I bought mine on Amazon, though and mine is a big thicker than the one shown.
