Meat and bones

Hi there,

I have a question about logging meat.

I grill a lot. And I'm pretty confused. Does grilled bone-in meat have more calories than grilled boneless meat?
If it does, why?

Similarly, does meat grilled with skin-on have more calories than grilled skinless meat, even if I don't eat the skin? -> I assume the answer to this one is yes, because fat from the skin gets into the meat during cooking but I just wanted to double check.

Thanks for the input, there's a lot of conflicting information about this one out there.

Happy healthy journey!

Most meats on the bone tend to be fattier cuts which does have more calories. Now you could weigh the food before you eat and then just bone weight after to get a more accurate weight and calorie count.

Regarding skin, most likely it would be more calories but its hard to say how much. If anything, id still count it against your calorie count as even the most trained person under reports calories in.
