Looking for recommendations for home workout programs preferably with little to no ongoing costs and equipment.
Anyone tried BBG, Betty Rocker or 8fit, time it up?

Wouldn't that just require buying the DVDs? I only ask because I've never heard of any of these routines.

The Sworkit app is alright. I just use the free parts of it for stretching but they have a few free workouts also.

The BBG is great! Highly recommend the app or you can download the first 12 weeks in PDF free.

I just bought a book on strength training (Strength Training Exercise for Women by Joan Pagano). While there are a number of body-weight exercises in there, the majority require light dumbbells (ranging from 3lbs to 12lbs as you progress). To do one of the full-body workouts suggested in the book, equipment like a stability ball, cardio step, mat, and ankle weights are needed. However, the book includes several exercises for each major muscle/muscle group. So, for example, if you don't have a stability ball, you can't do 'wall squats with stability ball' but you can do the basic squat or one of the other 8 variations.

Most of the equipment is relatively inexpensive and can be accumulated over time.

She also includes four cardio-and-dumbbell interval workouts and for those, all the stuff you'd need would be two sets of dumbbells, one lighter, one heavier. So, a pair of 3lbs and a pair of 5lbs to start with. You'd need a mat. And one of the four workouts requires what she calls a 'beach ball', but she's talking about an 8" rubber ball, not the big inflatable kind.

Fitness Blender user here. Can be free, on Youtube and their website, or you can pay about $10 for a keep for life schedule.

I've tried others but FB is the only one I really love and have happily been using them for 2 years.

12 minute athlete. Nominal cost ($4?) at the App Store. Read about it in health magazine. Great little App especially when on the go

Get creative. I purchased a set of Olympic rings and hung them in my shop $50.00 Couple of huge tractor tires for flipping, leg presses, squats and box (tire) jumps $free. 20 pound sledge hammer $40.00 80 pound damaged heavy punching bag for carrying, throwing or whatever $free on C.L. Duck tape to fix heavy bag $10.00. Get creative and get outside! Feel free to add me if you want as well. Always good to have like minded people for motivation!!

Check your library. I get lots of workout DVDs there or as inter-library loans for free. There are also many online. Search YouTube for whatever you like. Jillian Michaels, Kendall Hogan, Jessica Smith, Denise Austin, The Firm, etc all have good workouts. I also like many beach body DVDs, like Turbo Jam and Rockin'body or T25 (I borrow them from the library).

I use 8fit, it's been instrumental in building a habit of exercising most days a week even if it's just for 10 minutes. It's pricey but not compared to a gym and I really like the way they step you through the programs and you can change as needed. I've been recommending it to a lot of friends.

First off, what sort of exercises do you enjoy? That will narrow down the answers. For me, when I'm at home I like to do my Kettlebell DVD (Ironcore Kettlebell is the title). 3 different 1 hour routines for under $10 and then you'll need the kettlebell as well (15lb is where I'm at and it's $15 off Amazon). The workout is full body and I find it fun yet challenging. For cardio at home I try and get outside and walk or jog.

Do a search online for types of programs and purchase a few dvds to rotate. It's a one time expense
