Keto & Breastfeeding

Hi!
I'm on my first day of the keto diet, and I'm having trouble staying below the 50g net carb mark. I'm breastfeeding so I'm constantly eating. Anyone else nursing and on the keto diet?

Have you consulted with your doctor and/or your child's pediatrician before switching to keto? The general consensus in the medical community is that you don't make any extreme dietary changes while breastfeeding--unless there is something in your food that is harming your baby (if the child was allergic to something you were eating, for example.)0

I am breastfeeding. I am not doing keto but eating nutritious balanced meals. Sticking to 1200kcal with gym work outs. I would not advise cutting down on carbs as foremilk is mostly made up of carbs. My baby is 8 months. So, she is eating solids. If your baby is under 6 months, he's dependant on you for nutrients.2

Earlier another woman answered about being Keto while pregnant. There has to be some research on this out there. And why are all these moms doing Keto? I lost weight by counting calorires.1

1200 and that's it? You're trying to maintain bodily functions and milk supply and daily activity on 1200 calories? Yikes.2 -

I am 5 feet in height and overweight. My calorie requirements are not too high. They are about 1350. I reached a plateau. So had to bring it down to 12001 -
Thanks for all the input. My caloric intake is set for 2000 and I'm making sure I'm eating more nutritious meals. I was overdoing it with the carbs and gained weight so I need something to keep me balanced. I also made to sure consider how many calories I'm burning from nursing. My little is almost 4 months, and thankfully, my supply has been great. He's in the 97th percentile for weight. I'm making sure to eat more good fats and carbs and I take a multivitamin plus other supplements.0
