Hi,I'm a mom of 17 month old little boy.I have got a foot problem where I was asked to lose weight,I'm new to the country with my husband and my kid with no friends and family and struggling mentally to lose weight.I want to lose the extra weight I gained during pregnancy to make it easier for my foot.Since I'm alone all the time I lack the motivation and binge eat on carbs and sweets.I'm trying to find Indians who're trying to lose weight since finding Indian recipes and Indian food guide was hard for me.i would love to make friends from other backgrounds as well.I would definitely help myself and you in return as well to get motivated. Thanks

    Hi and welcome.
I'm not Indian and I'm not in Australia

MFP is set up so you actually don't need to work out out to lose the weight. That's what the calorie deficit is all about. Normally for me to maintain my current weight I could eat 2,250 calories a day and not gain anything. I choose the sedentary ( have a desk job ) and to loose 1 lb a week. So MFP says eat 1750 calories a day and you shall loose 1 lb per week.

I exercise for health reasons and because yes I'd like to see some parts of my body more tone.

I also have a carb/sugar "addiction", however I am no on my 25th day of lower carb and no processed sugary sweets.

Some say everything with in moderation as long as it fits in you calories. And I do think that can work for some. But it doesn't work for me. If I have a donut today, the whole rest of the day Im fighting the urge ( especially if im stressed or bored) . So I chose to lower the amount of white processed carbs I intake. and TRY to get my carb fix from whole grains and fresh fruit and veggies. It took a week and lots of water but the cravings are pretty much gone .

    Add me if you like.
