Hey all,

Since having my 2 gorgeous boy 3 years ago I've gained 4 stone. I was a size 8 and am now a size 16 to 18. I am soooooo depressed and absolutely hate the way I look and feel but I've become completely obsessed with food to the point where I'm now bingeing most days on the most unhealthy food. It's become a vicious cycle I'm struggling to break. I hate myself and feel low so seek solace in food which is the cause for the wretched feelings. I used to be a strict vegan bit now eat lots of dairy and such like although want to be vegan again. I go running still but I'm so slow because I'm so heavy and because I'm eating such disgusting quantities even that doesn't shift the weight.

I successfully did a 3 day water fast 2 weeks ago to try to conquer this addiction but not 2 days after I was pigging out on all the wrong foods again. I've never been this bad in my life.

Is there anyone out there in a similar situation or been there and managed to overcome this great barrier?

What advice can anyone give me as I'm clutching at straws now?

Thanks

Hannah

  • Hi, I don't think fasting is going to help, you will just get so hungry that binging is inevitable. Have you filled in all of your info and been allocated calories per day?
If you are depressed, then sticking to a diet will be very difficult. Why not try counselling to try and work through your reasons for overeating?
Add me if you would like and I will try and be supportive and enthusiastic. :)

Sorry I've im wrong but most people binge when there bored, if these no food plan in place the fastest thing to eat is crap and that equals to sugerly items.
You need to find something to do join a club go for walks, you must have mates do something that doesn't involve phones or sitting down.
We are not built to sit down we are built to hurt.
I plan for a week I do the same routine for a while then change a small amount.

Hi @cheesyhan I'm a single working mum to 3 kids, 4 year old son and twin girls who will be 3 in a few weeks.
I don't get much opportunity to exercise but when I'm in the zone, tracking my food alone, motivates me. With the kids, the biggest thing for me is not eating their left overs. It works for me to weigh daily and I realise there are fluctuations but as long as the general trend is downwards I keep going.
I really need to motivate myself to do an exercise routine after the kids in bed.
The past few weeks I've not tracked much due to starting a new job, however if you're up for it, I'm happy to join you.
    I'm in sunny Scotland <3
