Fitness and Trucking

I am an over the road truck driver. I am as active as my profession allows. Depending on the weather, I workout 15-30 minutes a day. (It doesn't seem like much to some but my schedule is tight) I also lift weights (10-15lb dumbbells) once a week. A personal trainer suggested that I use Optimum Nutrition whey protein powder as a meal replacement. I drink on one in the morning from breakfast to lunch and drink half of one after my workout. I bring groceries (green apples, tuna packs, baby carrots and guacamole cups, and single serving cottage cheese cups) with me in my truck so I'm not tempted to eat at the restaurants in the truck stops. I am very conscious of my portions and have started becoming fuller faster when I eat a normal meal. I believe it's because of the protein shake. I have short term and long term goals. I'm hoping that this app will help me keep things in perspective. All positive comments and advice are welcome and appreciated. Catch up on my journey on Instagram @kristen_rie

I don't know what to really call them but when I am on road trips and don't have time to workout I will pick certain muscle groups and just squeeze or flex them as hard as possible for 20-30 second intervals and then take a rest and repeat for 4-5 per muscle group. Lean your seat back and flex your abs. Grab the bottom of the steering wheel and flex your forearms and biceps. When you stop to fill up for fuel use your step side for step ups or do body squats. You will be amazed about how hard it is to flex and just hold a muscle as tight as you can for 20-30 seconds. You will work different muscles than a normal workout and it will make you surprisingly sore the next day. Best of luck!
