Slipped and bummed

I've been doing really good about logging all food and exercise for ten days but had a major slip yesterday.
My business celebrated six years last night which involved a lot of sushi and delicious wine! Today i tried to get back on track but had more temptation.
Just feeling disappointed in myself and hoping to get back on track.

Don't be bummed-- you have recognized the slip. You have also recognized that you are feeling like continuing to eat yummy stuff. Don't fall into all or nothing thinking. Just get back on track- do a day or two of stricter deficit and then continue with a moderate deficit. Have small amounts of whatever you crave everyday. Deprivation of foods you like will fail in the long run.1

There will always be temptations. The party sounded like fun. Today is a new day. We all slip and you just need to move forward.0

Honestly, what makes me sad about this post is that you feel guilty and disappointed about celebrating. People should be able to celebrate, even people on diets. It's the every day habits which make a difference in your weight, not something which happens once every six years. It doesn't sound like a giant blowout binge - you ate delicious sushi and drank good wine! Save the regret for those days when you eat a whole box of Oreos alone in your bedroom and they don't even taste that good to you.6

Just log it and move on. Don't waste any time or energy on worrying about what you have already consumed in the past. It happens.
Focus on winning the war (achieving and maintaining a long term healthy weight, exercise, and nutrition), not the battle (one dinner once in a blue moon).
Just keep weighing and logging... from your next meal. Get some exercise even if it is just going for a walk for an hour.
Good luck!0
