I'm currently on a low carb/low sugar/low gi eating plan to lose weight and help with my poly cystic ovarian syndrome. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a protein powder to use in my morning smoothies and shakes. I have read that soy and whey are not good for PCOS and I wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on alternatives to those. Thanks!

I use a plant-based protein powder because my body doesn't handle dairy (whey) well. Sunwarrior, warrior blend, chocolate flavor. 4g carbs, 0g sugar.

Whey is milk based and low in sugar, so whey would it be bad for PCOS? For muscle protein synthesis, nothing beats whey or casein.

http://www.livestrong.com/article/555756-pcos-whey-protein/ says whey is good for PCOS so might want to double check your source.

Biochem Natural Whey has no added sugar. (I believe their Vanilla flavor does, and is also overpoweringly vanilla IMO. Natural is lightly vanilla.)

I'm always looking for the best price and have settled on https://www.swansonvitamins.com/biochem-whey-protein-powder-natural-24-6-oz-pwdr

They run various deals and I was recently able to get $30 off when I spent $100. As I use this protein powder regularly, I bought four of them. A lesser deal requiring a lesser spend was also available.
