2 days on target, or 1 above & 1 below?

Is there any difference between being bang on my calorie target for 2 days, or going over by X one day and by being under by X the next?

I'm trying to frame a sensible question out of my request to you all to use my calorie deficit from yesterday to justify the beer in my hand...

No...you don't reset at midnight or anything...energy balance happens on a continuum.

Think averages. Week to week instead of day to day...

The only thing that I might have a problem with is that if the under day is too much under, I'm going to want to eat a lot again the next day. But that depends on you. For weight loss the average matters. For self control it may vary.

If you are under one day and make up for it with a beer the next, you're depriving yourself of much needed nutrition.

Thanks for the replies. Reassuring. I wouldn't want to cut out too many effervescent isotonic b-vitamin drinks from my weekly intake.
