I am a mother of 2 beautiful boys. My oldest is 9 and my youngest is 2. They are my world!!! I work full time and I am going to school to become a Social Worker. I have been busy taking care of my family and school that I lost myself in the mixed and let myself get too big. I am ready for change!!! I do good for a couple of weeks and then it takes me one day to lose track. I keep saying I will start again tomorrow, tomorrow turns into weeks, then months. Anyone have any suggestions???

I remember someone told me once, to change your life on a new routine it usually takes 21 days. This may seem like a long time, but it's not!! 3 weeks to keep track of eating healthy, getting into some sort of exercise routine, and keeping active. Whenever I doubted myself, I always remembered I keep this up, and feels like work - maybe after 21 days it will become just a part of my life... and it has!!!! My life is probably one of the most busiest, with 3 children under 3, work full time, husband works full time, and our eldest son has Autism, so he attends therapy 4 times a week! I STILL make sure I get to the gym at least 4 times a week! and eating healthy is now getting passed down to our children!!
So keep your head up, keep focusing on what you are doing, be positive!!! It gets so much easier, if you just stay with it!0 -

MFP is great. I have been here for 3.5 months and I love it.
As for suggestions, don't take it day by day, take it minute by minute. Especially with your busy schedule. You can make a bad choice one moment and then you could make a good choice the next minute.
Feel free to add me as a friend and we can cheer each other on! :flowerforyou:0 -
Focus on what you enjoy, i used to hate exercise, but now am regularly walking more and enjoy weekly session of badminton with my family. I used to feel guilty with eating bad things like chocolate and ice-cream, but this is where this website will help you because it will show you how much more or less you can have and the more extra activity you do the better. I would say don't rush into too many changes otherwise you will return to bad habits and weight gain too quickly. Making 2-3 subtle changes per week, will help keep you motivated. I have lost 2st 9lbs since january with managing my calories and really pleased that this website can help me quickly keep track as it has a great datastore of information at the ease of a button. Having 30 mins to walk is all you need to get started. If taking kids to school, go a slightly longer way or get them interested in nature trails to make it more fun and less of a chore.0

I agree to focus on what you enjoy. You're more likely to keep going.
Also, it's been helpful to me to sign on here at the same time every day. It becomes a habit and there is motivation right in my face.
Finally, don't try to do it all at once. Just do something. Make sure to do something every day to bet you to your goal. Whether that be eating well or working out or ideally both. Just do something every day...no matter what.0 -
