How do I get rid of water weight?

So last night I ate some Chinese food. I ate beef and broccoli and pork fried rice and an egg roll combination platter. It costs like 8 bucks and every Chinese place I've been to has a combination meal or a lunch special and that's what I always order.

Now granted it's a filling meal but when I weighed myself just now my weight is up 4 pounds. I'm pretty sure it's mostly water weight "at least I hope it is"

What do I do to get rid of it today? I don't want to have it lingering around for the next week, I'm going to drink lots of water and not eat anything until my weight gets back to normal.

This is highly unusual for me to retain so much water, I did also eat about 1200 extra calories with cookies and juice but even then my calories couldn't have been more than 3,000. So help me out, what do I need to do now?

Okay half your plan is right - drink extra water - but not eating anything until your weight gets back to normal is a bit extreme - what if it takes several days or a week? You're just going to starve until then?! This is irrational behavior in response to one night of chinese food. Do you always have such an extreme response to normal weigh fluctuations? If so, I'd suggest some counseling to deal with your food issues before they get too out of hand. Good luck to you.

There is a LOT of sodium in takeout Chinese Food which makes you hang on to a lot of water. Just eat under your calorie goal and keep drinking water - it'll go away on its own without any special changes.

Ahh, I see you started this thread and few others:

I suggest you do some digging into learning how to lose weight and what to expect. The first thing you need to do after that is learn or get help as to how to not obsess over the scale - something you've mentioned you do in other threads.
