Lost 70 pounds but now need help toning

Hey guys! I was just wondering if anyone had some exercise tips or exercise plans for toning. Especially in the lower ab area... I've lost 70 pounds over the past 18 months. Thanks in advance!

    Congrats on the weight loss. 70 pounds, that's frigg'n awesome.

    Unfortunately, there's no way you can target fat loss. And for most people, the abs are usually the last place the body wants to shed the fat. You can do resistance training and target that area, but it won't burn the bodyfat any faster. And there's not a big caloric burn with ab exercises. However, you will build the muscles up so that when the fat diminishes, you will see definition there faster.

    So I think it's going to require some patience. A great diet/nutrition plan. And plenty of exercise to help burn the calories. If you've not been strength training, you may want to incorporate that into your fitness program. Building lean muscle will increase your daily caloric burn when in a state of non-activity. And ultimately that's what "toning" is ... reduce bodyfat and build lean muscle.
