I feel like it would be a tasty snack but calling it a donut is just funny and wrong.6

My favorite part is how in that two page article, there is no recipe. Do you.... bake them? Do you put the peanut butter on both sides? Did she dip them in the powder or make the defatted pb with water first? There's no quantities. No ingredient list beyond "something about apples and two flavors of pb fit".

Weird, the recipe came up on my screen at the bottom. No baking, just core them, slice and spread peanut butter or pb fit (made with water) and add toppings.1

My son loves these but we make them as a sandwich instead of open faced. We core the apples and dip them in pineapple juice (so they don't brown), dry them off a bit with a paper towel (helps the peanut butter stick), add peanut butter and other goodies like raisins or chocolate chips or whatever you like.1
